What is happening at our house

Well the puppies are growing (they are even starting to growl).  Thank goodness they are sleeping better too.

The cat has decided that he can go into the master bedroom to sleep with me.

Our old dog is enjoying the warmer weather (with a little wind).

Hubby has been home for the past few days so him and the kids have had a good time.

   Well I realize that you shouldn't really name the puppies if you are going to get rid of them (makes it harder), but hubby and I have named two of them so far.

   One is Igit see he crawled/scooted out of the closet and got himself stuck in a sleeping bag on the floor and needed rescued.

   The other one is Wrong Way because every time he tries to get milk from Mom he is at her shoulder behind her.

   Yes they are the reason I am up at 3am on a Sat. morning all 8 puppies laying in my closet with Mom trying her  best to keep them safe and sound.

   Hope everyone has a great morning (think I will try and get some sleep in the living room now)

online class

I just signed son up for an online CurrClick class and book club.  It is about the book "The Hunger Games"  so hopefully he will enjoy it.

Maybe I should have looked more at the book, but oh well I bought it and he is in the class.  We will discuss the story line after I read it too. (goes to show you can't trust)

Additions to the house

Well I wasn't expecting them for another week (isn't that the way it happens) , but my puppy is having puppies this morning.  

Daughter keeps running into living room to sit with Abbey (mommy dog) and when she see's a new puppy come out she yells uuugghhh and runs away to her room.

grounding

It is amazing how much a child can do when you tell them as they wake up --your grounded.

My son has gotten 3 states done today and is working on getting math caught up, daughter did her math (got all 100's by the way) and is going to do her chores. 

Maybe being the bad parent isn't such a bad idea.

Feel like the bad parent

     Do you ever feel like the bad parent? You know the one who has to enforce the rules, the one who has to make sure all the chores are done.

     Well I really hate when that happens to me.  It seems that my 2 adorable kids have not been getting their stuff done like they were suppose to do.  So today I get to be the bad parent and ground them both.  How long should it last?  Well it has been thought to just keep them grounded until they get the stuff done, but does that work?  

     I think that today we will look at what I think Charlotte Mason would say is a character problem and that means that we have to work on character issues.  My very techno kids are about to get a rude awaking when they lose access to all this.

     I would like to say that this weekend is going to be a great weekend, but I have the feeling it is going to be long.

Jessica didn't get much sleep, so school is going to be catch up on projects (mainly Jason needs to do)

Did today

Well Mom wasn't feeling all the great (sore throat) so we just relaxed and cleaned house today.

We have had 84 days of school this year.  Ok we are behind, but does learning ever really start and stop.

Kids are ok with the idea that school will continue until June so all is good.

Pe for little one was running around playing with the dogs and for big one it is fencing tonight

Volunteer time

My oldest has joined the library teen board and today we printed posters to put up around town.  They are going to have a marshmallow eating contest.

curriculum I use

We use Learning Adventures for most of our school work.  It is a unit study approach that covers Literature, Bible, History, Science and Fine Arts.
For Math we use Teaching Textbooks (each kid is on a different level).
Handwriting practice is a copybook quotes of the Presidents of the United States.
