Cell Phones

You know it is hard to imagine the time when cell phones weren't that accessible.  I remember driving all over the US and the only way to talk to someone or check in was to stop at a pay phone, or hotel phone.

Technology has sure grown in the last 10 years even.

For anyone out there who has verizon I would go and see about them getting me a better deal on my plan. I did and now I get to save money on it.  It seems that they won't save you the money unless you go in and ask for what the changes were that kicked in this past week.

I say this because now I am not sure what I would do without my cell phone. 

Trip

Well he was able to leave today.  He was very happy when we got to the church, and the kids were glad to see him too.
Now my son is off on one of his big adventures for the summer.

hope he has fun.

Wed. To Do List

Get oldest ready for his church trip (yes they are still going)
     hopefully instead of going to Colorado Springs though they will plan something else
    Somehow I have to survive 10 days without him  (at least I can call him)

so he needs
   work clothes
   sunscreen
   more clothes
   gloves
   money for fun stuff
and lots more stuff   :)


I hope he has fun, and it is fun watching him grow and mature.  I really see God's hand in his life and hope that he continues to follow the path laid before him.

Weather

Well today would be perfect, except it is hard to breath outside.
Reason it would be perfect is for once the wind is not blowing right now, temp is only around 80*.
    All the fires in the area (around the state, and the some of the ones around us) has the area full of smoke.

I really wish it would rain soon, the area is dry and we need all the help we can get.
     95+ temps, winds blowing sometimes up to 40mph.  Our poor fire fighters are working hard just not getting  very far.

Sending a prayer out to all those who are working so hard to control the fires and keep everyone safe.

Family

   As I get ready to leave for my daughters party today, I think about all the family that surrounds us either physically or mentally (if they live far away).  
   One of the things I hope my kids get out of being homeschooled is how important family really is.  It seems that we are lost without them, whether we agree with what they do or not.
   Everyone needs to stand by family (either biological, married into, or just really close friends) and we as a people need to stop being so judgmental of our family.  They need a place to feel safe (our houses), they need a place to relax and know that they are loved and respected.


I hope that everyone remembers this and treats others the way they should during the trying times.
